Watson Lake

  The Chino Valley Irrigation District created the Granite Creek Dam in 1914. Today Prescott Parks and Recreation Department manages this lake.
This beautiful weathered granite boulder lake attracts numerous ducks in the winter. Fishing can be good at times.

    All boats are permitted. “No Wake” or 5 miles an hour or less is strictly enforced.

    Watson is known for its BIG catfish! Trout stocked during cooler temperatures.
  • Hiking
    Peavine and Iron King Trails run along the southeast side, and into the scenic Granite Dells, ending in Chino Valley. Highway 89 travels the west shoreline with an overlook pullout.
  • Fee
    A entry fee is required to gain access.
  • Other
    A must see lake, and perfect for kayaking or canoeing. Campground, and other facilities.
